Incheon Open Port’s Modern Architecture
Exhibition Hall City Tangible Cultural Property No. 50, where you can see existing and lost modern buildings

Incheon Open Port’s Modern Architecture Exhibition Hall was originally built by Japan and was the place where the Incheon Branch of Japanese 18th Bank was located.
The Bank, headquartered in Nagasaki, Japan, opened the Incheon branch in 1890 when merchants in Nagasaki made great profits from brokerage trade in which British cotton fabrics imported from Shanghai were imported and exported back to the Korean market.
The Japanese 18th Bank is also the place where traces of a painful past remain, because it is where Japan intentionally established the branch with the aim of trying to dominate the Korean financial world.
