Chinatown Street

Chinatown StreetLittle China within Korea

Chinatown with Crowds in the Daytime
When you get to Chinatown Street, you can see a Chinese style street that anyone can easily recognize.
If you pass the towering pailou and continue walking 300 meters on the inclined road, the place is divided into a T-shape on both sides, and the surrounding shopping malls make you feel as if you are on the streets of China. Red signboards and redlanterns hang about, and restaurants and products on display are also uniquely Chinese.
Chinatown is a place that is colorfully decorated and provides things to see and eat to many people.
Tourist Information of Incheon Chinatown
A Small China in Korea – Chinatown
Looking back on the area's history, the people who have continued the prestige of the Chinese society here are the Chinese who live in Chinatown, who have lived through painful times. Incheon's Chinatown has a different structure from that of othercountries' Chinatowns. In other countries, the streets were formed over a long time by Chinese, from the first workers to contemporary middle-class people who migrated away from an unstable government.
In contrast, within a short period of time that brought many changes along with the process of modernization, Korea took advantage of the short distance between her and China to establish the place as a home for Chinese people who migrated to Koreamainly for commerce.

No-car street for tourists
Chinatown has retained Chinese culture and customs for over 120 years. You can see Chinese merchants in traditional Chinese dress qipao, recently restored modern Chinese architecture, and the streets decorated in red, which symbolizes China.
You can also taste jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), gonggalbbang (bubble bread), mooncake, and Chinese tea, which are representative dishes of Chinatown.
Whenever you enter an alley, it makes you feel like you are traveling somewhere in China.
