To get to Silmido, you have to wait for low tide, when the water is drained, before crossing through the tidal flat.
This road, where the sea splits and the water is drained for 2 hours twice a day, is called 'Silmi Moses Road'.
At Silmido Beach overlooking Silmido Island, you can enjoy the blue sea, pine trees, and clean white sand, and wait for the sea to split.
Silmido Beach is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach that extends for 2km, and 100-year-old beautiful pine trees shade it, attracting many vacationers.
Silmido Island is a small island attached to Muuido Island and consists of hills ranging 80m high or less, and a coastline of 6km.
As it is an uninhabited island, there are no artificial facilities, and only features peculiar shaped and naturally scattered rocks.
Its eastern coast is made up of fine white sand, and its western coast is full of strange and large rocks.
If the day is nice and clear, you can see Baengnyeongdo and North Korea in the distance.

The west coast of Silmido Island is a painful historical site that was founded by Korea's Central Intelligence Agency in the 1960s for intense training of anti-North Korean operatives.
The place served as an actual filming location of the film "Silmido", which was based on this background.
The set has been demolished and cannot be seen; instead you can see the stunning seaside scenery of Silmido Island.
