Yeongjong Museum of History is a child-friendly space with a kids' room and an experiential exhibition room. The experiential exhibition room is a space where children can learn the history of Yeongjongdo and Yongyudo Islands through variousexperiences. The outdoor exhibition hall displays folk materials from the Yeongjong area, so it is good for taking a walk. It was created with the theme of “walking the old road of Yeongjong Yongyu,” and exhibits Muninseok (a stone post carved to resemblea military general), Mangjuseok (a pair of stone posts in front of a tomb), Yeonjabanga (a millstone worked by a horse or ox), and Onggi (pottery). You can take a walk while looking at the sea along the road leading to the outdoor performance hall,or you can go to Yeongjongjin Park. Yeongjongjin Park has various travel themes such as sea routes, cultural squares, and a beautiful promenade, and is a park that preserves the history of Yeongjong. There is also a forest kindergarten where childrencan play. You can look back on the history of Yeongjongjin by seeing the restored Taepyeongru and the fortress walls that were restored after the Unyoho incident, and a memorial to commemorate the souls of the sailors who died at that time. In thevicinity of Yeongjong Museum, you can find Yeongjongjin Park as well as the Seaside Park Rail Bike. The Yeongjong History Museum exit is the starting point of rail bikes, so it is a good place to go after looking around the museum.

Sea road to Yeongjong Museum of History
Yeongjongdo is an island, but it is an island with access from the air, sea, and land. Usually, you can visit Yeongjongdaegyo Bridge or Incheondaegyo Bridge by car, but Yeongjong History Museum is closer and more convenient if you use thewaterway. You can travel from Wolmido Island to Yeongjongdo Island, or from Yeongjongdo Island to Wolmido Island by boat. It is even more convenient since you can take your car on board. Yeongjongdo and Wolmido Islands are separated by 2km intervals,so you can get there in about 15 minutes by boat. There is about one boat per hour, and the fee is low. If you get the boat time right, it would be a nice journey going to and from Yeongjong Island as you watch the sea and the seagulls. You can purchasetickets for the boat at Gueup Baeteo (Old Boat Docks) on Yeongjongdo Island, and at Wolmido Docks on Wolmido.
