Incheon Seollin-dong Gonghwachun

The Gonghwachun building was opened by a Chinese person who came to Korea via Incheon after Korea opened its port.
This Chinese-style building with an inner courtyard is said to have been built by craftsmen from Shandong, China. Its current front exterior was finished with various colors of tiles and its interior flamboyantly decorated in red with diverse patterns.
It was originally an inn providing traders with lodging and meals.
As its Chinese dishes gained popularity, the inn gradually turned into a restaurant with a large banquet hall that retained its fame until closing in the 1980s.
