Former Incheon Provincial Office

Currently the main building of the Jung-gu Office, the building was constructed as the Incheon Provincial Office in 1933 at the site of the Japanese consulate, and was used as the administrative center of Incheon for a long time.
After Korea gained its independence from Japan, the building functioned as the Incheon Municipal Office until 1985 when the city office moved to Guwol-dong. It is now used as the Jung-gu District Office.
Originally a two-story building, a third floor was later added in 1964. A modernist building in its day, it was noted for its modernist-style facilities including steam heating and flush toilets.
